The New York Mets optioned right-hander Kodai Senga to Triple-A Syracuse, the team announced Friday.
New York recalled catcher Francisco Alvarez, brought up right-hander Wander Suero, and optioned backstop Hayden Senger in corresponding moves.
Senga has struggled since the All-Star break after pitching well in the first half of the season. The 32-year-old owns a 6.56 ERA and 1.71 WHIP with 22 walks and eight home runs allowed in his last eight starts.
