Tucker Kraft suffers torn ACL

Tests confirmed that Green Bay Packers tight end Tucker Kraft suffered a torn ACL during Sunday's 16-13 loss to the Carolina Panthers, sidelining him for the rest of the season, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Kraft was carted to the locker room after suffering the injury. He'd caught three passes for 20 yards before exiting.

Kraft was one of football's hottest tight ends this year, having collected 469 yards and six touchdowns on 30 receptions. He posted a monster performance on Sunday Night Football last week with 143 yards and two TDs.

Luka Doncic powers Lakers over Miami Heat

Luka Doncic had 29 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists, Austin Reaves scored 26 points, and the Los Angeles Lakers beat the Miami Heat 130-120 on Sunday night to extend their winning streak to three games.

Eagles acquire Jaelan Phillips from Dolphins

The Philadelphia Eagles are trading a 2026 third-round pick to the Miami Dolphins for pass-rusher Jaelan Phillips, sources told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

The Dolphins are paying part of Phillips' salary to make the trade happen, Rapoport adds.

The Eagles had two 2026 third-round selections, with one coming from the New York Jets, but will be sending their own pick to the Dolphins, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

UPDATE: Jayden Daniels out indefinitely

Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels will be sidelined indefinitely after dislocating his left elbow in Sunday night's 38-14 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

However, it's not certain that the injury is season-ending, Schefter adds.

The quarterback is slated to have an MRI on Monday to confirm the diagnosis and figure out how much time he will miss, Schefter reports.

Oklahoma City 7-0 start to the season

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had 30 points and seven assists in three quarters, and the Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the New Orleans Pelicans 137-106 on Sunday to extend their season-opening winning streak to seven games.

Gilgeous-Alexander made 8 of 14 field goals and all 13 of his free throws in 30 minutes to keep the Pelicans winless.

Isaiah Hartenstein had 14 points, 14 rebounds and eight assists for the Thunder, who shot 56% from the field and had eight players score in double figures. Oklahoma City's largest lead was 36 points in the fourth quarter.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander home invasion

The Oklahoma City Thunder's Shai Gilgeous-Alexander said Sunday he and his family are safe following a break-in at his Oklahoma City-area home last week while the NBA's reigning MVP was playing a home game.

"Long story short, everybody's safe, and that's all that really matters in the whole thing," Gilgeous-Alexander said Sunday after the Thunder beat the New Orleans Pelicans. "Everything else will come and go, but my loved ones are safe, so I'm OK. I'm happy."

Police in the small enclave of Nichols Hills did not release any new information on the break-in over the weekend, and a telephone message left Sunday with Nichols Hills Police Chief Steven Cox was not immediately returned.

Matthew Schaefer breaks NHL record

Matthew Schaefer added another milestone to his fast start with the New York Islanders on Sunday.

Schaefer had two goals in a 3-2 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets. Schaefer, who turned 18 on Sept. 5, became the youngest defenseman in NHL history with a multi-goal game, moving in front of Hall of Famer Bobby Orr (18 years, 248 days on Nov. 23, 1966).

Schaefer, the No. 1 overall pick in this year's NHL draft, has five goals and five assists in his first 12 games with New York.

Jayden Daniels suffers arm injury

Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels suffered a gruesome injury to his non-throwing arm during Sunday night's 38-14 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

Daniels hurt himself in the fourth quarter while getting tackled at the end of a run with the Commanders trailing 38-7.

The reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year walked off the field with his left arm in a cast and went into the X-ray room.

Steelers shut down Colts with turnovers

Jaylen Warren ran for two touchdowns, and the Pittsburgh Steelers forced Indianapolis into six turnovers in a 27-20 victory on Sunday.

The Steelers (5-3) snapped a two-game losing streak by harassing Colts quarterback Daniel Jones into the kind of mistakes he'd largely avoided during Indianapolis' scorching-hot start.

Jones threw three interceptions and fumbled twice, including a strip-sack by Pittsburgh's T.J. Watt in the second quarter that seemed to shake the Steelers out of a weeks-long funk in which the NFL's highest-paid defense gave up yards and points at an alarming rate.

Joel Embiid fined $50K

The NBA has fined Philadelphia center Joel Embiid $50,000 for making what the league determined to be a lewd gesture during a game against Boston on Friday night.

The fine was announced Sunday by James Jones, the league's executive vice president and head of basketball operations.

Embiid scored while getting fouled with 7:08 remaining in the first quarter against the Celtics, then made a chopping gesture toward his groin. Embiid has now been fined at least four times in the past for making the gesture — $75,000 in December 2024 (a game in which he made multiple gestures), $35,000 in October 2023 and $25,000 in January 2023.
