Kenny Atkinson front runner for Hornets Head Coach


Golden State Warriors assistant Kenny Atkinson has emerged as the front-runner for the Charlotte Hornets' vacant head coaching position, sources told The Athletic's Sam Amick and Shams Charania.

Atkinson is slated for his third interview with the Hornets, which will involve owner Michael Jordan and team management, according to Amick and Charania. Charlotte reportedly first began interviewing candidates on May 3.

Alvarez signs 6 Year $115M


The Houston Astros and star slugger Yordan Alvarez reached an agreement on a six-year extension worth $115 million, sources told ESPN's Jeff Passan.

Alvarez's new deal, which keeps him under contract through the 2028 season, covers all three years of arbitration and his first three years of free agency thereafter.
