The Toronto Blue Jays placed All-Star shortstop Bo Bichette on the 10-day injured list with right knee patellar tendonitis on Wednesday, retroactive to Aug. 1.
Bichette exited Monday's game against the Baltimore Orioles after hurting his knee while rounding first base. On Tuesday, manager John Schneider stated that an MRI on Bichette showed no significant structural damage.
The Anaheim Ducks signed restricted free-agent winger Troy Terry to a seven-year extension, the team announced Wednesday.
His deal carries an average annual value of $7 million, reports The Athletic's Eric Stephens, earning himself a handsome raise over his previous $1.45-million cap hit.

Boston Bruins goaltender Jeremy Swayman was awarded a one-year contract worth $3.48 million in arbitration, the team announced Tuesday.
The Bruins had filed at $2 million, while Swayman's camp came in at $4.8 million. The award is $75,000 more than the middle of the two amounts. Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Ilya Samsonov received a $3.55-million salary in arbitration on July 23.
The New York Mets and Texas Rangers have agreed on a trade involving right-hander Max Scherzer, reports the New York Post's Jon Heyman.
Scherzer has agreed to waive his no-trade clause, but a deal hasn't been completed as the two clubs have to work through financial issues, a source told SNY's Andy Martino.
Scherzer is in the midst of his worst campaign in more than a decade, authoring a 4.01 ERA and career-worst 4.73 FIP in 19 starts while earning $43.3 million. The veteran hurler is also tied for the most home runs allowed in the National League.
Aaron Judge believes it would be good for baseball to see Los Angeles Angels superstar Shohei Ohtani best the New York Yankees outfielder's American League record of 62 home runs set last season.
"Records are meant to be broken," Judge said Wednesday, according to Greg Joyce of the New York Post. "It would be exciting for the game if he went out and got 63-plus. ... I still got quite a few years left in this game, so if he breaks it, it'll give me another opportunity to try to go out there and do something special."
Kansas City Chiefs superstar Patrick Mahomes reported for training camp Tuesday and is already thinking about how the reigning Super Bowl champions can keep competing in a stacked AFC.
"The thing this year is how we can keep building?" the quarterback said, according to NFL.com's Michael Baca. "Obviously, we won the Super Bowl last year and it was amazing, but we still have a lot of young guys, and we want to continue to get better and better. You look around the AFC, everyone has gotten better. So you want to continue to build and build and not be satisfied with what we did last year and see if we can take that next step."
The Shohei Ohtani trade speculation is heating up.
The Los Angeles Angels will consider trade inquiries for Ohtani, sources told Jon Morosi of MLB Network, who added that the club has not eliminated the possibility of a deal prior to the Aug. 1 deadline.
A nine-game homestand coming out of the All-Star break will play a large role in determining the team's direction, notes Morosi. The Angels are slated to play nine games against the Houston Astros, New York Yankees, and Pittsburgh Pirates. The Astros and Yankees sit above Los Angeles in the AL wild-card race.
Anze Kopitar isn't going anywhere.
The Los Angeles Kings signed their captain to a two-year contract extension with an average annual value of $7 million, the team announced Thursday.
Kopitar tallied 28 goals and 74 points in 82 games last season. He was awarded the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy as the league's most gentlemanly player. The deal keeps Kopitar in L.A. through the 2025-26 season.
The Chicago Blackhawks made the obvious choice official Wednesday, selecting potential franchise-altering prospect Connor Bedard with the first overall pick in the 2023 NHL Draft.
"This is incredible. ... It's a dream come true to be selected," Bedard told Sportsnet. "Chicago, what a storied franchise there. I can't wait to get to work."
