Acuna Jr activated from injury

The Atlanta Braves reinstated star outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. from the injured list ahead of Monday's game against the Miami Marlins, the team announced.

Although Acuña isn't listed in Monday's lineup, he is available off the bench.

A strained left hamstring has kept the 28-year-old out of action since May 2.

Oilers will interview Craig Berube

The Edmonton Oilers are set to interview Craig Berube for their head coach position.

The Toronto Maple Leafs fired Berube earlier in May after missing the playoffs for the first time since the 2015-16 campaign. The Oilers, meanwhile, dismissed Kris Knoblauch on Thursday in the wake of their first-round playoff elimination.

Pelicans hire Mosley as next head coach

The New Orleans Pelicans are hiring Jamahl Mosley as their next head coach.

Mosley will receive a five-year contract, Charania adds. He spent the last five seasons as head coach of the Orlando Magic before being fired in early May.

The 47-year-old helped guide the Magic to three consecutive playoff appearances. However, Orlando failed to advance past the first round each time, and the team blew a 3-1 series lead over the No. 1 seed Detroit Pistons this postseason.

Aaron Rodgers re-signs with Steelers

Aaron Rodgers will remain with the Pittsburgh Steelers for another season. 

The future Hall of Fame quarterback is signing a one-year deal worth up to $25 million to return to the Steelers for the 2026 campaign. The contract will have a base salary between $22 million and $23 million.

Blake Snell requires surgery

Los Angeles Dodgers left-hander Blake Snell will undergo surgery to remove loose bodies in his elbow.

The Dodgers didn't immediately provide a timetable for his return, although Roberts is optimistic that Snell will be back before the end of this season.

Buffalo Sabres force Game 7

Montreal held a 3-1 lead after scoring three goals on its first three shots, but Buffalo fought back with its season on the line and registered seven unanswered goals.

Celebrini scores twice for Canada

Teenage captain Macklin Celebrini scored twice and Canada shut out Italy 6-0 at the ice hockey world championship on Saturday.

In his three-point game, the 19-year-old Celebrini netted a one-timer from the right circle after receiving a cross-ice pass from Porter Martone to make it 3-0 with 3:04 remaining in the opening period.

Celebrini followed his first goal of the tournament with his second from a backhand shot high into the net at 2:09 in the middle period for 4-0.

The Golden Knights will forfeit a 2026 second-round pick, while head coach John Tortorella was fined $100,000, the league announced Friday.
