Guerrero Jr confident to turn the season around

Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is confident things are going to turn around for him.

"I always tell the guys, don't worry about me," Guerrero said following Sunday's 6-4 win over the Baltimore Orioles. "I'm going to be good. When I get hot, I'll get hot. I don't go up there to miss."

Guerrero has struggled to repeat his production from last season when the Blue Jays reached the World Series. Following Sunday's 0-for-4 performance against the Orioles, the 27-year-old owns a .287/.378/.374 slash line with three home runs and 25 RBIs.

Jonathon Cooper jailed for domestic violence

Denver Broncos outside linebacker Jonathon Cooper was jailed Friday on domestic violence charges.

Cooper, 28, was held on suspicion of two counts of domestic violence and one count of criminal mischief, according to Douglas County jail records. He was arrested by Parker Police at 11:16 p.m. Thursday and booked into jail at 2:38 a.m. Friday.

Cooper had his first appearance Friday in the 23rd Judicial District Court and is due back in that court Monday for a disposition hearing.

JT Poston wins Memorial

J.T. Poston built a four-shot lead Sunday morning in the rain-delayed Memorial and won the biggest tournament of his career. It just turned out to be a lot more work than he would have imagined.

Poston, who lost his lead after 12 holes, made a 7-foot birdie putt on the 18th hole to salvage an even-par 72 and force a playoff with Ryan Gerard, and then won on the second extra hole when Gerard missed a 6-foot par putt.

Gerard made a 40-foot birdie putt on the 17th hole to briefly take the lead, closed with a 68 and didn't really make a mistake over the final four hours until the final putt.

Nelly Korda wins US Open

Although Nelly Korda is deep in one of the most dominant seasons in recent golf history, her first U.S. Women's Open title still hung on the rim of the 18th hole at Riviera for one heart-stopping moment.

Her 2 1/2-foot putt to win caught the left edge, and it toured half the circumference of the hole while the gallery watched in disbelief. When it finally fell amid an outburst of gasps and roars, Korda put her hand over her open mouth before she laughed at the absurdity of her sport.

Pavelski will interview as Leafs head coach

Former All-Star forward Joe Pavelski is expected to be on the Toronto Maple Leafs' radar for their vacant head coaching role.

Pavelski lacks NHL coaching experience, but has garnered respect from across the league for his leadership and is reportedly seen as a "Martin St. Louis-style candidate," according to Friedman's sources. He has coached his son, Nate, at the youth level in Madison, Wisconsin.

McDavid wins another Ted Lindsay award

Edmonton Oilers superstar Connor McDavid won the Ted Lindsay Award on Sunday.

The award is presented annually to "the most outstanding player in the NHL," as voted on by the NHLPA.

"This award, coming from the guys that you play against every single night and battle against every single night, to have them recognize me with an award like this, means so much," McDavid said in the release.

Vegas Golden Knights defenseman Shea Theodore scored in double overtime to seal a 5-4 victory over the Carolina Hurricanes in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final and secure a 2-1 series lead.

Tyler Glasnow lands on 60 Day injury list

Los Angeles Dodgers starter Tyler Glasnow was transferred to the 60-day injured list Saturday, another sign that his balky back is hindering his rehab progression.

The 32-year-old right-hander has been out since May 8, two days after a back spasm surfaced. Initially, the team expected him to miss a short period of time.

Instead, Glasnow was shut down and manager Dave Roberts said the pitcher still hasn't been cleared to resume a throwing program.

Aaron Judge out 4-6 weeks

New York Yankees captain Aaron Judge is set to miss an extended period after being diagnosed with a stress fracture of the first rib on his right side, the team announced Thursday.

The Yankees expect Judge to be out 4-6 weeks but return at some point this season.

Matthew Knies escaped trade to Montreal

The Toronto Maple Leafs were one minute away from trading Matthew Knies to their most storied rival.

The Maple Leafs had a deal in place to send Knies to the Montreal Canadiens at the 2026 deadline, but it was submitted one minute past the 3 p.m. ET deadline.
