Morgan Rielly to explore trade options

The Toronto Maple Leafs and Morgan Rielly are likely to explore trade options this offseason, as the veteran defenseman has softened his stance on waiving his no-movement clause.

Rielly would have to approve the destination in any potential trade. He's under contract through the 2029-30 season at a cap hit of $7.5 million.

The 32-year-old is Toronto's longest-tenured player, suiting up for 13 seasons with the club after being drafted fifth overall in 2012. Rielly ranks second in franchise history in points by a defenseman (549) and third in games played (951).
