Rivers leaves Bucs

Doc Rivers will leave the Milwaukee Bucks following his third season in charge of the team.

Rivers went a combined 97-103 after replacing Adrian Griffin as the Bucks' head coach in January 2024. This season, the franchise went 32-50 and missed the playoffs for the first time since 2016.

The Bucks, who signed Rivers to a reported $40 million contract through 2026-27, will pay out the remainder of Rivers' contract and consider an advisory role for the veteran coach, Charania reports.

Rory wins back to back at Augusta

image0.jpeg

Another heart-stopping Sunday at Augusta National gave way to the same result as last year, with Rory McIlroy winning his second straight Masters in dramatic fashion.

McIlroy entered the final round as the co-leader, but fell behind by two shots early with some poor play on the opening nine. However, the 36-year-old poured in back-to-back birdies on 12 and 13 to flip the board and push ahead of Justin Rose, Scottie Scheffler, and the rest of the chasers.

The final result sees McIlroy claim the one-shot victory and join Jack Nicklaus, Nick Faldo, and Tiger Woods as the only men to win the Masters in two straight years.

Rory sets Masters record

image0.jpeg

Rory McIlroy is turning Augusta National into his own personal playground.

The 2026 Masters is unfolding like last year's event, with McIlroy again asserting his dominance over the field and the iconic course.

After claiming a green jacket and completing the career grand slam, McIlroy is doing his best to replicate his finish from 2025.

The five-time major champ rode one of the most absurd heaters in Masters history Friday, birdieing six of his final seven holes to turn a packed leaderboard into another emphatic chapter of the Rory story.

Another Presidents trophy for Colorado

image0.jpeg

The Colorado Avalanche clinched the 2025-26 Presidents' Trophy as the NHL's top regular-season team after defeating the Calgary Flames 2-1 on Thursday.

This is the fourth time the Avs have claimed the award as the regular-season leader in points and first since the pandemic-shortened 2020-21 campaign. Their four Presidents' Trophies are tied with the Boston Bruins and New York Rangers for the second most. The Detroit Red Wings top the list with six.

The Presidents' Trophy was introduced for the 1985-86 season, and only eight teams have ever won the Presidents' Trophy and the Stanley Cup in the same year. The 2013 Chicago Blackhawks are the most recent team to claim both.

Burns and McIlroy share first round lead at Masters

image0.jpeg

Rory McIlroy doesn't seem ready to relinquish his title as reigning Masters champion.

Last year's winner is once again atop the leaderboard at Augusta National after firing an opening-round 67, McIlroy's lowest Thursday score since 2011. That mark leaves him tied with Sam Burns and two shots clear of Patrick Reed, Jason Day, and Kurt Kitayama.

The New Jersey Devils are shutting down defenseman Hughes for the remainder of the campaign so he can undergo a procedure and get a head start on offseason rehab, the team announced Thursday.

The Devils, who have been eliminated from playoff contention, have four games left.

The team didn't specify the nature of the injury. Hughes skated in 68 games this season, registering 35 points while averaging a team-high 23:01 per contest.
