Red Sox pick up Dustin May from Dodgers

The Boston Red Sox acquired right-hander Dustin May from the Los Angeles Dodgers for outfielders James Tibbs III and Zach Ehrhard, the teams announced Thursday.

May owns a 4.85 ERA with an 8.4 K/9 in 104 innings this season. He'll join a Red Sox rotation that includes ace Garrett CrochetBrayan BelloWalker Buehler, and Lucas Giolito

Boston also has five other starters on the injured list.

May missed the entire 2024 season after undergoing surgery to repair a torn esophagus, an injury he sustained while recovering from a flexor tendon issue in his elbow.
