Defenseman Tyson Barrie retired from the NHL on Monday, ending a 14-year career, the league confirmed.
The 34-year-old suited up for five franchises but is likely best remembered for his eight-year stint with the Colorado Avalanche, who selected him in the third round (64th overall) in the 2009 draft. Of his 822 career regular-season games, he played 484 with Colorado, registering 307 points for the Avs.
