New York Islanders forward Kyle Palmieri will undergo surgery to repair a torn ACL in his left knee, the club announced Saturday.
Palmieri will be out for six-to-eight months following the procedure.
The 34-year-old suffered the injury after getting tangled up with Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Jamie Drysdalewhile battling for the puck near the boards Friday. He still managed to get an assist on a goal as he was leaving the ice.
