Washington Wizards guard Tre Johnson sustained a strained hip flexor that will sideline him for the near future, head coach Brian Keefe said Monday, according to The Athletic's Josh Robbins.
"We'll know more here in a couple of weeks, but he's had a good start to the season for a guy who was playing through a lot of pain, averaging almost 12 points a game and close to 40% from three," Keefe said.
Keefe didn't go into detail about the recovery timeline for Johnson, citing team policy. Similar injuries typically keep players out of action for two-to-four weeks, according to Robbins.
