The Montreal Canadiens signed forward Alexandre Texier to a two-year extension with an average annual value of $2.5 million, the team announced Wednesday.
Texier has proven to be an excellent fit in Montreal, recording seven goals and nine assists in 25 games since signing a one-year, $1-million contract with the Canadiens as a free agent in November.
The 26-year-old has spent most of his time with the Habs skating on the top line with Nick Suzukiand Cole Caufield. The trio has outscored opponents 9-2 with a 65.2% expected goals share at five-on-five together, per Natural Stat Trick.
