The Washington Nationals are trading starting pitcher MacKenzie Gore to the Texas Rangers, reports Jon Heyman of the New York Post.
The Rangers will send five prospects to the Nationals as part of the deal, including 2025 No. 12 pick Gavin Fien, sources told ESPN's Jeff Passan.
In addition to the third baseman, right-hander Alejandro Rosario, first baseman Abimelec Ortiz, infielder Devin Fitz-Gerald, and outfielder Yeremy Cabrera will reportedly join Washington.
Gore posted a 4.17 ERA with 3.74 FIP and 185 strikeouts over 159 2/3 innings last year en route to earning his first All-Star selection. The southpaw has two years of club control left.
