The Miami Dolphins are bringing on Hall of Fame quarterback and ESPN broadcaster Troy Aikman to serve as a consultant in the team's search for a new general manager, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
It's not a permanent role for Aikman, who will reportedly be an adviser as Miami looks for a new GM to replace Chris Grier. The Dolphins and Grier agreed to part ways Oct. 31.
Aikman is not considered a candidate for Miami's GM vacancy, reports NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, who adds that the 59-year-old will do background work before the franchise kicks off interviews next week.
