First baseman Pete Alonso has already said he intends to opt out of his deal with the New York Mets, and it looks like he wants a big contract in free agency.
Alonso is expected to seek a seven-year deal after he opts out of the two-year, $54-million pact he signed with the Mets last February, reports Mike Puma of the New York Post.
The 30-year-old slugger had a bounce-back year in 2025, slashing .272/.347/.524 with 38 home runs, 41 doubles, and 126 RBIs in 162 games played.
