The Toronto Blue Jays will begin their defense of the American League championship without some important pieces.
Manager John Schneider said the outfielder needs left labral surgery and will miss five-to-six months. The procedure is scheduled for Wednesday.
Schneider also revealed that former Cy Young winner Bieber is dealing with forearm fatigue and won't be ready for Opening Day. Additionally, right-hander Francis is scheduled to undergo surgery to repair a torn ulnar collateral ligament and will miss the entire 2026 season.
