New York Mets shortstop Lindor will be evaluated for a stress reaction in his left hamate bone, president of baseball operations David Stearns said Tuesday.
Lindor is meeting with a specialist Wednesday to determine the next course of action.
Stearns added that Lindor may need surgery, which would include a six-week recovery, but the executive is confident that the five-time All-Star will be ready for Opening Day if he undergoes the procedure, according to Castillo.
