Sidney Crosby has been named captain of the Canadian men's hockey team for the 2026 Milan Cortina Olympics, the organization announced Sunday.
Edmonton Oilers star Connor McDavid and Colorado Avalanche defenseman Cale Makar will serve as alternates.
"I am grateful for the opportunity to represent Canada at the 2026 Olympic Winter Games, and it is an honor to be named captain of Canada's men's hockey team, which has so many great players and leaders," Crosby said in a statement.
