Sidney Crosby out 4 weeks with lower body injury

Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby has been placed on injured reserve and will be sidelined for a minimum of four weeks due to a lower-body injury sustained while representing Canada at the Olympics, the team announced Wednesday.

Crosby suffered the injury against Czechia in the quarterfinals and missed his country's next two games, including Canada's gold-medal loss to the United States in overtime.

He notched six points in four contests in Milan Cortina. Canada's runner-up finish marked Crosby's first international best-on-best appearance that didn't yield a championship.
