Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Brandon Carlo will be out for an extended period due to a lower-body injury, head coach Craig Berube told reporters Tuesday.
"He has to get something done. It didn't go the way we thought," Berube said, according to TSN's Mark Masters.
Carlo has been sidelined since suffering the injury during a 4-3 loss to the Los Angeles Kings on Nov. 13. Berube said Monday that the defenseman experienced a setback in his recovery and had returned to Toronto for further evaluation.
